The Folk Forecast: 11-25 Oct 2020
Including Cara Dillon, a Faustus concert series, Episode 3 of The Young'uns YTV, plus the launch of the Official Folk Albums Chart live from HOME in Manchester!
Hello, and welcome to the very first issue of The Folk Forecast!
With so many virtual folk events popping up, it can be hard to keep track of what’s on the horizon, so the aim of this newsletter is to get listings gathered in one place so you don’t miss a thing. After being made redundant from the music industry, this is my way of giving back to the scene I love, with a view to supporting both artists and audiences at this difficult time. I hope it proves useful!
Without further ado, here’s what’s coming up in the next 2 weeks…

This fortnight’s playlist
You can find a playlist of the highlighted artists in this newsletter over on Spotify, so have a listen and see what you fancy! Remember to support artists by buying CDs and booking gigs too - they need your support now more than ever.
This fortnight, I’m mostly listening to…
‘The Hare’s Lament’ by Ye Vagabonds. My top track is ‘The Foggy Dew’, which is the most beautifully bittersweet version of the song I’ve ever heard. You can find my top track in this fortnight’s playlist, or click below to get your copy of the album!

The Folk Forecast is created for artists, for audiences and for the UK folk scene. All information is correct to the best of our knowledge. If you have queries about the events listed, please contact the artists or promoters. If you have any suggestions for inclusion in future newsletters, please email TheFolkForecast@gmail.com. We may not be able to include absolutely everything, but we’re interested in UK folk events with a broad appeal, and would particularly welcome suggestions from Scotland, Wales and Ireland. The Folk Forecast is compiled by one person, so please bear with me if I can’t get back to you right away.
Thank you for this very useful service for both fans & musicians. 👏👏👏
